I want to think about this some more, but one quick note - when it refers to 
"e-dummy", dummy means pacifier.
My parents are British and you have to remember, there are some differences in 
meaning. I remember when one time my father said, "Stop it, or I will biff you 
about a bit and bung you in the boot." My mother translated for me (we had been in 
America 2 years and I had lost some vocab): Stop or I will hit you and put you in a 
car trunk. Thank goodness, he was joking!
