Dear Colleagues: I am considering purchasing The Greenwood Companion to Shakespeare. Before spending the $300 for the set, I'd like to know if any of you have it and, if so, how useful is has been. Is is relatively easy to read and understand? Does it truly aid in the understanding and interpretation of Shakespeare's works? Recently, I've purchased several texts that supposedly helped in the study of great literature, but they're dull, wordy and far too scholarly for my high school students. I'm looking for something that will really enhance their understanding. I would welcome any reviews.
