Dear Librarians,
Just read Tangled Threads: A Hmong Girl's Story by Pegi Deitz Shea. It is a
recent donation to my K-5 library.
I wonder about the scene where the 13 year old refugee girl endures an
attempted rape in the refugee camp. A short scene but quite disturbing. I'm
thinking it would be too much for my fourth and fifth graders. Have you read it?
What do you think?
