Apparently not a single reputable news source has picked up this story. A bunch of blogs, most quoting Alliance Defense Fund or Fox News would not pass muster as sources for a high school research paper. I have a feeling there is much more to the story (or much less) than is being reported by these very biased sources (ADF, Fox, StoptheACLU, WorldNetDaily, etc.). I heard this on two different stations this evening as I was flipping through stations----the first was Fox News; the second was a local station. Apparently this is "old news" since it began in March but the national "bits" are being distributed now for the general public to hear about, I'm guessing. Here are some of the blogs and online sites that talk about the issue: http://www.thbookservice.com/blogs/conservative-booknotes.asp http://acrlblog.org/2006/04/14/reference-librarian-at-center-of-controversy-over-common-reading-experience/ http://yargb.blogspot.com/2006/04/osu-mansfield-goes-nuts.html http://insidehighered.com/news/2006/04/14/mansfield http://tailrank.com/posts/562949953561221/charge_for_recommending_conservative_books_for_freshmen http://boards.historychannel.com/thread.jspa?threadID=800003532 http://www.lisfeeds.com/feed.php?id=96 http://worldnetdaily.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=49761 http://www.renewamerica.us/columns/huston/060416 http://neveryetmelted.com/?cat=477 -------------------------------------------------------------------- Please note: All LM_NET postings are protected by copyright law.
