I am a new media specialist in a K-8 school. I will be starting in the media center this year. The school library is just being established and is expected to be up and running beginning in Sept. I will serve as a 'specials' teacher for grades K-5, which means the students will come to me regularly as they do PE and Music. The 6-8 students will come in during project and research times. The problem is that the room is very very small. There is a wall dividing the main room from what is scheduled to be the computer lab area (Will probably house between 10-20 computers). This makes the library area even smaller. A large book shelf sits in the middle of the floor close to a window. There are also book shelves on the 3 outside walls of the room. To my knowlege they are not detachable. I need suggestions on how to best arrange the room for classes of 25.
