[LM_NET] HIT: Literacy Empowerment Foundation & "free" books

On the website http://lefbooks.org (Literacy Empowerment Foundation), they say you 
can get 100 books for "free", all you need to pay is shipping, handling, and an 
administrative fee. Has anyone ordered the free books? Are they paperback or 
hardback? How 
much did the shipping, handling, and administrative fee total? Were you 
pleases/displeased 
with the quaility?
REPLIES:
LEF and Bruce Larkin turn up every so often on LM_Net.  If you do a
search in the LM_Net archives, you'll get quite a few hits.  The general
consensus was that the books weren't worth it.  The author (Larkin) is
self-published, and seems to use the LEF promotion as a way of reaching
customers. 
I just went on the website and the shipping for each 100 books is $65.00!  I 
decided no since I want to choose what I give away.
 I did a few years back. . . they weren't worth the shipping cost :-(They are new 
books offered for free, but with a hefty shipping cost. They are stapled 
in the middle, like a magazine, and written by a self proclaimed author. If you do 
a 
search on Amazon.com you will see that he hasn't written anything that is available 
to the 
general public. 
I wouldn't waste my money.
