My teachers would easily find Patricia Polacco books useful in teaching 
writing traits.  They also seem to like Mem Fox, Cynthia Rylant,  David 
Weisne,and Chris VanAlsburg.  Don't want to forget Jan Brett and Eve 
Bunting....hope this helps
