I just wanted to reply to the email below. I agree it is difficult to
find RC quizzes and that at this point many book companies just don't
deal with them. We get books each month through Atlantis Subscriptions
and they too do the AR tests but not the RC tests. It is frustrating. I
think maybe the reason a lot of companies don't deal with RC, besides
the cost, is that it is still a relatively new program. I find that if I
go back to the Scholastic RC quiz catalog a month or so after I get the
shipment I can find some of the quizzes. Still not the best however. I
think maybe also, RC caters to the High school level more in some ways.
Just some of my thoughts.

Subject: Re: Reading Counts Issues for Everyone-lack of available tests

I agree that the 30 question database is great and I really do like the
= program. My problem is getting tests for books. Every catalog I get
= has AR tests but hardly any (if any) Reading Counts tests. I want to
= order some non-fiction from Capstone Press. (I love their
non-fiction!) = They offer Free (for a limited time) AR tests but no
Reading Counts = tests are available. I asked my representative at
Capstone why one can = only get AR tests from that company. He said it
was because Reading = Counts charges them so much to make tests on their
books. It's just too = expensive. =20 Also, this year we've been able
to get tons of free books from the = Scholastic Warehouse as a result of
our Bookfairs. I've been able to get = the newest of several series, as
well as the latest in fiction for my = school's age group. The problem?
Most of them don't have Reading Counts = tests available. And the
student's here just won't touch a book that = doesn't have "points" but
that's another issue altogether -- one that = bothers me greatly.

WHY is it so HARD to get Reading Counts tests for books? We have the =
latest in the Lemony Snicket series, The End, but Reading Counts does =

not offer a test on the book. Does anyone else get frustrated over the
=

lack of tests? Maybe it's just me...
