David Weisner has a new book out called "Floatsam." I heard him talking about it
a month or so ago on PBS radio and was finally able to preview a copy at Barnes &
Noble last week. I just ordered a copy from Bound to Stay Bound.
What an amazing wordless picture storybook. If you haven't seen it, basically a
little boy on the beach finds an old camera that has washed up on shore. He
discovers that it has film inside and takes it to be developed. When he gets the
pictures developed he discovers all kinds of fantastic adventures the camera has
been on...both in the sea and throughout time as each person who finds the camera
takes a picture of himself or herself holding one of the developed pictures. By
looking closely at one of the pictures you discover a picture within a picture
within a picture...
Amazing. If you get a chance to see it...imagine and enjoy!
