As I was looking around in Wikipedia, I found a page that enumerates the rules for publishing to Wikipedia. One of them is "No original research." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:No_original_research Everything must have been published before in a verifiable source and should have citation, unless there is something I don't understand here (which would not be the first time). Therefore, the student claiming to be the author of the article should be able to show another source in which his/her article has previously been published. "This policy does not prohibit editors with specialist knowledge from adding their knowledge to Wikipedia, but it does prohibit them from drawing on their personal knowledge without citing their sources. If an editor has published the results of his or her research in a reliable publication, then s/he may cite that source while writing in the third person and complying with our NPOV policy."
