We are remodeling our public library (YIPEE!). It's great news. It's going to be a half a million add-on and remodel. The problem, we are moving out while the construction takes place (YIPEE- again). We don't want to live in the middle of that for the next 14-16 months. BUT, we are not finding buildings that have 'rooms' in them to do additional programs. We are pretty much moving into a warehouse style building. No walls, no privacy, no chance of doing our own thing. Our library director is challenging us to come up with ideas that will still draw people to the 'fake library' building. We used to be able to do summer programs with the kids- crafts, tours, story hours- you name it, we did it. We also used to hold adult programs- scrapbooking, film festivals, speakers. We won't have room for any of that. SO, does anyone have any 'get 'em into the library' thoughts? What can we do that won't require a separate room, or privacy, and can be done quietly? We are looking at Book Bingo and a few other ideas that would be contest type things, but my mind is running pretty dry. I am hoping some of your creative minds will give us some new insight! THANKS!
