Barbara:

Cynthia Leitich Smith has a listing of the various state awards with links
at her web site. Might be a good place to begin.

Subject: TARGET: Readers' Choice awards

Dear All
I hope the start of 2006 has been a happy one for you all and will continue
to be so.

Although your Australian colleagues are still on vacation (and some
sweltering in record
temperatures) some of us just can't hibernate for too long. And, as usual,
I have a question ...

I am writing an article for Teacher Librarian and it has been suggested that
I mention some of the
state-based readers' choice awards such as the "Forest of Reading" program
in Ontario. Naturally it
makes sense to include programs from the US and Canada, not Australia so I
need to know the names of
those that are appropriate. If you could send me the name of your state
award and its website, I
would be grateful.

Thanks, as usual, for your help.
Barbara
