OK, I'm a long-time lurker, first time poster. Great lunch suggestions
so far!

I'm not naturally organized enough to make my lunch every night or
morning, so I came up with a system for lazy folks:

One year when I was insanely busy at work, I came up with this idea--I
bring in a loaf of bread, a jar of peanut butter, and a jar of
strawberry jam. If I can get my act together, I'll bring in a bag of
apples or a six-pack of Progresso soup and some of those Gladware-type
tubs. Then I can supplement the PB&J with fruit or half a can of soup
(if you have a fridge you can refrigerate the leftover soup in a
Gladware for the next day). Basically all I have to do is bring a new
loaf of bread every couple of weeks. (Horrible confession: cheap white
bread lasts the longest. I eat the good multi-grain stuff at home, I
promise.)

Although I got a lot of laughs at first, several folks stop by
occasionally to scrounge a sandwich. I also confess that I have always
made time for lunch away from my desk. And I don't even like to talk
about work during lunch-that sacred 25 minutes or so is what keeps me
from being a witch the rest of the day. Most days, that is...
