Dear Taliah,

A $100,000 will not be enough money to open up a K-8 library if the
librarian has to purchase technology for the school, library supplies and
furniture, and their books. Your friend will need to know what they are
expected to purchase with this money. Many new schools have a separate
budget for technology these days, so she'll need to know whether the
technology budget will cover her library computers, school digital cameras
and digital video cameras, and other AV equipment. Does the furniture
budget include funds for library furniture, or are they expected to use part
of the $100,000 to purchase furniture. I'm sure they will be expected to
use the funds to purchase books and library supplies. However, it never
hurts to ask if there are additional funds for office supplies. This will
help a little if they don't have to buy office supplies on top of library
supplies.

Your friend will need to ask a whole of questions before they can determine
if $100,000 will be enough.
