AASL SEEKS EDITOR FOR RESOURCE GUIDES

The American Association of School Librarians (AASL) is seeking an editor for its
web-based collection of bibliographies of professional resources, the AASL Resource
Guides for School Library Media Program Development
<http://www.ala.org/aasl/resources>. Arranged alphabetically by frequently used
topics in the professional literature, these bibliographies include books, journal
articles, Web sites and other media.

The editor position is open to any AASL personal member or potential member whose
professional experience and writing and/or editing background would enable him or
her to assemble and maintain an authoritative collection of bibliographies that
address the diverse information needs of school library media professionals as well
as principals, parents, charter school organizers, library support staff,
government officials and college instructors. The editor has final responsibility
for the content of the bibliographies. Business management, production and
publishing are the responsibility of the AASL staff. Like all AASL committee
appointments, this is a volunteer, unpaid position. The editor is supported by the
AASL Website Resource Guides Editorial Board, whose members serve as reviewers in
the selection of resources and consultants in the development of selection
policies. Please note, the editor and members of the editorial board serve
virtually, and attendance at ALA Midwinter Meetings and ALA Annual Conferences is
not required.

To be considered for this position please submit (via regular mail or e-mail): 1) a
letter expressing interest in the position and demonstrating an understanding of
the vision and goals of AASL; 2) a brief resume; and 3) up to three samples of
reviews you have written and/or written material you have edited. Send the above
to:
