I also got this information from Sagebrush today. I must say that it upset
me as well. However other than rant, there's little else we can do about the
situation. Mergers and acquisitions are a fact of life in today's business
world. In my local NJ I've seen bank after bank swallowed up by a larger
bank town so that now there are no small "home town" banks- just branches of
megabanks .
I began with Winnebago Circ/Cat when it was owned by the Winnebago company
in Caledonia, MN. I remember the lovely ladies they sent from MN to train
us. They spoke fondly about the company and the family feel it had. The next
thing you knew, Winnebago had been bought out by Sagebrush, which had their
own circulation system, Athena.
We discovered that it took longer for Tech support questions to be answered
by Sagebrush but otherwise we didn't notice many changes.
It'll be interesting to see how Follett makes the transition.
