Dear LM_NETTERs,

When I heard the news that Follett had bought Sagebrush, I had a flashback to
earlier in my career. The first automation system purchase that I was involved
in took place in the spring and the company was bought by someone else during
the summer. When I heard the news, my stomach sank to my feet. I felt like we
had just purchased one thing and now had something else. It felt awful. I
wondered what kind of treatment I would get as a customer of a "purchased
company".

If you're a Sagebrush customer, maybe I can alleviate some of your concern. As
a Follett customer for the last few years, I have found the company to provide
an excellent product, but their people are the crowning difference. They care.
They provide wonderful service. They listen. They act on what they hear to
improve their product. Over my twenty-seven year career in education, I've had
the opportunity to work with various companies, I'm yet to find another one
that has the level of customer commitment that I see at Follett. I have found
them to be well organized and I'm sure they will take care of their new
customers just as well as their current ones.

I've always appreciated how I think educators look out for one another. I hope
this email will help some folks make the automation adjustment more easily.
Feel free to contact me offline, if you have specific questions.

Have a great day!
