If you prefer the beauty of Katahdin Mountain and hiking the Appalachian Trail or starting a day by seeing a moose, then you should explore this position in rural Maine. Maine School Administrative District #25 is the recipient of an Improving Literacy through School Libraries grant and that means an exciting opportunity to select materials and establish a new school library for an elementary school. I've talked with the Superintendent of Schools -- he is very supportive and looks forward to the difference a library media specialist can make in this new position. MSAD #25 includes the towns of Patten, Sherman, Stacyville and Mount Chase in northern Penobscot County and part of southern Aroostook County. The student population of 455 students includes two schools, Katahdin Middle/High School and Katahdin Elementary School. For additional information contact Christine Cunningham, Principal at 365-4285 or John Doe, Superintendent at jdoe25@KHS.msad25.k12.me.us <mailto:jdoe25@KHS.msad25.k12.me.us <mailto:jdoe25@KHS.msad25.k12.me.us> >. I'd also be happy to talk with anyone about certification requirements in Maine.
