Paije, This slacker librarian must confess...I don't know the answer to all of your questions! Even worse, I buy MARC records so I don't have to know these answers! I find the small cost associated with their purchase well worth it! I don't have time to do all of that hand cataloging! I do check the records that I buy to make sure the subject headings align with my library and make changes/additions whenever necessary. These questions do sound like essay questions to me, but regardless of how you find your answers, I think in the long run you will appreciate this experience (when I got my MLS, my instructor spent less than 2 hours on the Dewey Decimal System and spent the rest on Library of Congress) because sadly, you can't buy MARC records for all of your materials. Sometimes, you do have to do some hand cataloging! I, personally, have no problem with MLS students seeking help and information from a group of librarians. Best of luck! I recently was asked the following questions and referred to the librarian that works in the school where I teach 3rd grade. She could not help with any of the answers. Therefore, I am seeking your help! If you know any of the following answers or know where I can find the following information, PLEASE let me know ASAP. I appreciate any and all replies! I am desperate!!! THANK YOU!!!!!! Paije Davis 3rd grade classroom teacher State College Elementary State College, PA 16801 pss12@mac.com 1.
