Hello everyone,

I am wondering if any of you request class syllabi (or something
similar) from teachers when doing collection development. I have had no
success in gathering syllabi by asking individual teachers. I went to
my administration (since they already have copies of all syllabi) and
asked for copies for myself and they are refusing. They're saying it's
the teacher's choice whether or not I can see the syllabi. I find this
absurd. How can I develop a collection that supports our curriculum if
I don't know what is being taught?

If you request syllabi from your teachers or administration, would you
please email me off list? I want to be able to show my administration
that my request is not unreasonable.

Thanks.
