Dear Colleagues,
I have been monitoring this discussion about being the only staff in
the library. I actually answered the
original query, but only to the librarian who did the original
posting.

I want to thank you all for your responses. I have had an epiphany!!
The disheveled shelves, backlog of processing, cart of book repairs to
be done, etc. etc.--this is not my fault!!! I prioritize my tasks, come
in early, stay late, plan lessons, try to convince teachers about the
benefits of collaboration, come up with creative reading promotions, act
sweet and thankful to my volunteers, have two bookfairs per year and a
magazine sale, spend huge amounts of time in collection building, etc. ,
etc. If I can't get to everything in a timely manner, its not because
I'm a lousy librarian...

I truly mean this, my whole outlook has turned around (at least for
this week!) Thank you!
