That would not be a problem in my town.  My elementary students keep asking for 
graphic novels and Manga, but I hesitate because their publication is so poor but 
expensive.  I'm not ready to pay $18 for a paperback that will fall apart after 10 
loved readings in the first month.  I've been talking to my public library friends 
who are disappointed by the poor quality publication.  However, that is changing 
(we've asked, pubs are delivering) but it's still too new.  I wait with lists in 
hand.  My students love gaming but our district network blocks most.  I've found a 
few and students can use them a little bit during school.  I have a regular group 
of 5th grade "gamers" who do card battle everyday at recess.  We have one very hip 
JH librarian who has developed some things you would LOVE Shonda.  Hopefully, it's 
just your little clump of students.  So sad for a cutting edge librarian.

this group likes to develop programs---and I'm trying to "play games!"

How sad....I was so eager to provide some really neat programming that I'd seen in 
other libraries (especially in public libraries), but my kids don't even like video 
games! In fact, when I asked impromptu, "what's your favorite video game"....most 
said, "I don't play video games!"

Again...so sad...I just bought my own Nintendo DS (with The Brain Game) and I love 
challenging myself--- keeping the "grey matter" up-to-speed ---playing speed math 
games, timed-reading games, Sudoku, and verbal-visual games. 

Does anyone else have this problem....or is this a quirk in the private school 
---or maybe just mine???
