Our ESL teacher would like to compile a booklist of titles (grades 6-8) of multicultural books that would foster empathy for ESL students. We are a high school, but she wants to target the middle school age so that students may have a better understanding by the time they get to high school. The books do not have to be about immigrant children - they can be about young people in their native cultures. This level is a little lower than I am familiar with, so I'm hoping those of you in middle school might have some suggestions. TIA! Tish Carpinelli, Media Specialist Lower Cape May Regional H.S.
