I am not saying that Web 2.0 ability for "tagging" isn't a good thing, or
that
what we used to do is the very same thing. But I still think that it is
interesting
that one these new tools, that libraries and librarians did very similar
things all along.

While there is the Sears List of subject headings, I often create new
subject headings
such as Honors English list, or Math Reading list. We do/did bibliographies
and share them.
We can even add additional keywords to marc records so they can be searched
even more.

But I am also using del.icio.us and will be doing a workshop for teachers on
this tool.
