Arlington Central School District, a growing and respected district in Dutchess County, is located in the beautiful Mid-Hudson Valley of New York State, about 90 miles north of NYC and about 90 miles south of Albany. (http://www.arlingtonschools.org <http://www.arlingtonschools.org/> ) We have an opening for a middle school Library Media Specialist. (Grades 6-8) The school in question is one of thirteen district schools, consisting of nine elementary, three middle schools and one high school. Union Vale Middle School is two years old. The large library is fully automated (Follet Circ+). Adjacent to, and part of, the library is a computer lab with fifteen computers and a SMART Board. All computers are attached to a local area network which includes Microsoft office programs, Internet access, OPAC, and several databases. One aspect that sets the Arlington Library Media Specialists apart is our collaboration and strong commitment to communication. We are looking for an energetic library media specialist, interested in information literacy as well as in passing on a love of literature. An online application may be found on our website.
