Hi everyone -

I have been using an Olympus Camedia C-5050 Zoon camera to shoot various
school events. It is great with outdoor daytime shots (recent school trip to
France, sports events), fine with well-lit indoor events (sports again, daytime
classroom stuff), but it fails at low-light events. Last night we used it
at the
prom. The camera seemed confused, sometimes deciding against flash,
and getting the focus wrong on about 25% of the pictures, even though
we hold the button halfway down, wait for it to get its readings, and then
shoot. Exposure in those situations always varies greatly too (usually
erring on the way-too-bright side) and red-eye is an issue.

So...what camera are you all using in your low-light situations that is
delivering great results 99% of the time? We're pretty disappointed in
our prom candids that we hoped to use for the yearbook. Help!

Thanks -
Steve
