Do you think principals (parents and legislators) are aware of what other school
libraries / librarians have as budgets? Has anyone written an article for a
professional principals' journal about the funding made available for school
libraries?

We've seen several (and, of course, read here) what others have in terms of
budgets, but are there library organizations within some states that are posting
and promoting the extreme ranges of budgets for school libraries in professional
(and public) forums such as journals or magazines? I always see it in our
professional journals, but no where else.

Perhaps if others (especially parents and legislators) could see what some
libraries / librarians are working with in terms of the amount of dollars compared
to the number of students they serve, we could build an alliance for funding our
schools (especially with the 65% solution being discussed).

Just curious as to what is being done to publicize outside of our professional
journals how some school districts fail to support their school libraries /
librarians --- or at least make others aware that their school libraries /
librarians aren't being given their "fair share" of the public funding pie?

Ideas? Links? Articles? Writers?
