Thank you to everyone who responded; especially to David Bilmes, who reviews bullying videos for School Library Journal and was able to direct me towards some great videos. I eventually identified numerous videos, programs, books, other support materials to use up the $5,000. I would highly recommend anyone searching for bullying videos to check out Human Relations Videos at http://www.hrmvideo.com/ as they had a lot of materials that we are purchasing. I also happily discovered that most of their materials as well as those of several other companies are available through Mackin http://www.mackin.com/ which makes my processing a whole lot easier. I have also made a recommendation to my principal that a teacher who is on the "A" salary track which requires a research project or reading of some sort be assigned to a study of the videos and their use. These are the videos that I ended up ordering: HRM: Bully Proof Kit, Curriculum in a Box: Middle School Confidential, Bullying: You Don't Have to Take It Any More, Real People How Not to Be a Victim: Violence Prevention, Standing Tall: Learning Assertiveness Skills, No Name Calling: Creating Safe Environments, Library Video Company: Stop Bullying! Standing Up for Yourself and Others, Bullies: Take A Stand, from Conflict Resolution for Students: Peer Conflict, Peer Pressure, Bullying and from Discovery School Cruel Schools Mackin: Connecting Kids with Kids: Character Education for 6-8 from Active Parenting, End the Silence: Stop the Bullying and How Not to be a Victim: Violence Prevention Kit from Sunburst Video, and Let's Get Real from New Day Films. Once again, thank you to everyone who responded. Now we can only hope that these videos plus the other items ordered and a buy-in from our staff will make some significant changes.
