Here are a few sites that relate to historical relevance to Mother Goose---all of
which make sense when a student is studying history---and which relate to current
events, music, etc. (One of the most enjoyable learning experiences that I was
involved in was when I took a group of seniors to London during Spring Break. Our
tour guide not only did a great job showing us the city, he also gave us a great
history lesson relating to nursery rhymes and Mother Goose. My seniors talked
about it LONG after the trip ended---and that's one lesson that's hard to
reproduce, but the history of the rhymes always make sense to me when I'm teaching
resources in history or literature.)
