Since it is Paul Fleischman's birthday, let me pay him a compliment. A year ago in August I was on a cruise in Alaska and while watching a glacier calve I spoke to the people around me. A gentleman moved so that I could get a good picture and he joined the conversaton. A woman asked him what he did for a living and he said that he wrote children's books. Of curse I asked his name and was so excited to meet him. I took his picture so that my friends at home would know I had met the real person. He invited my husband and I to stop by his room and he gave me a copy of his newest book and asked me to let him know what I thought. He was travelling with family and I had just missed meeting his father. This is to assuage some guilt because I never got back to him. I returned to three illness, two of which required surgery and now I am extremely healthy and feeling that I have to get the book and fulfill my obligation,. He was a charming and extremely friendly man and I would think he would be a great person to have as a speaker. jean r rowan LMS, retired Downey Community School Brockton MA 02302 bjrowan@comcast.net -------------------------------------------------------------------- Please note: All LM_NET postings are protected by copyright law.
