I know the standard Dewey Decimal arrangement for fiction books is alphabetically by author's last name with either an F or the letters FIC on the spine. Has anyone used a different arrangement. I read an article in School Library Journal where the librarian arranged all fiction books by genre--all science fiction books together, all fantasy books together, etc. I interested to see how many other librarians have done this and the reason for doing so. I will compile responses and post them as a HIT. Thanks for your help.
