[LM_NET] TAR: New Scanner needed with Destiny?

Destiny users:  

We run Follett's Catalog Plus/Circulation Plus and we got a 3400 scanner that works 
just fine, although it is 9 years old. We're changing to Destiny this fall, and the 
folks at Follett said that "perhaps that 3400 scanner will work with Destiny and 
perhaps it won't". The scanner that definitely will work is $400, which I could 
sure use elsewhere. Can any of you Destiny users tell me if you've successfully 
used a 3400 scanner with it, or if you tried that and ended up buying the 3800, and 
if so, why?
