Barcode security is a problem with older kids too. This year the tech dept set up
individual logins for each student based on their ID number and the kids are
voluntarily sharing them with each other. It doesn't matter how many times we warn
them against this. The tech dept told us that kids would pay consequences for
misbehavior on the computers once they could tell who was logged on at the time
but, they are not following through. In fact 2 of our new optical mice were stolen
and now we can tell who was logged on when it happened but, the tech dept told us
they are too busy to go through the records. That makes the librarians look like
fools since we warned the kids and now there's no follow
through.*************************** Juliann T. Moskowitz Library Media Specialist
