Hello LM_Netters- There's a great many of us, so (hopefully) some of you will know what I'm talking about here and whether it's for real or a hoax. I received a notice from "US District Court Settlement Administrator" telling me I am eligible to receive a court-approved refund of fees charged to my credit cards based on my foreign transactions from 2/1/96 to 11/8/06. This is (supposed to be) a proposed $336 million class action lawsuit settlement. I'm hoping it's for real since we had a lot of foreign transactions (living in Germany through 1999) but am reluctant to give out any info in case it isn't. There are 3 options given: 1) Easy refund (flat $25)- involves giving out no info 2) Total Estimation refund (maximum of 1% of estimated foreign transactions)- involves giving out no info 3) Annual Estimated refund (maximum of 1-3% of actual foreign transactions)- involves giving out some credit card #'s. Did anyone else receive this notice? Any opinions?
