Hi folks.
I suppose just about anyone with a credit card will have gotten this notice.
I think a phone call to any local federal court would clear up any question
about the legitimacy of the notice. While waiting to do that here are couple
places for info online.
News articles about the case:
http://www.bizjournals.com/dallas/stories/2007/12/03/daily13.html |
http://www.nytimes.com/2006/07/27/business/27cards.html?_r=1&oref=slogin
Here is a link to the case Web site: http://www.ccfsettlement.com/
On that page is the following info: Foreign Currency Antitrust Litigation
Settlement Administrator · P.O. Box 290 · Philadelphia,
PA · 19105-0290 · 1-800-945-9890. They encourage folks to call for further
info. The Court they refer to is the U.S. District Court for the Southern
District of New York, 500 Pearl Street, New York, N.Y. 10007 (no phone
number given).
It's amazing how suspicious we've become (with good reason). A letter my
school recently sent out in preparation for developing an alumni directory
got us a lot of indignant phone calls about privacy issues (I know because
my assistant is one of the folks involved in putting the directory
together).
Suspiciously yours,
Tom Kaun
