As part of an article called Credo in the May 1936 issue of Reader's Digest (p.5), author Rose Wilder Lane expresses her core beliefs. In her argument in favor of American individualism is this quote. "Individualism has given American the highest standard of living in the world. Today American, and only America offers every child free schooling to the gates of college. Only America has a free public-library system, with an extension service to villages and farms." I wanted to share. Isn't it nice to be included among the things that make up the "highest standard of living in the world." ;-) Sarah Uthoff Reference Librarian Kirkwood Community College Cedar Rapids, IA suthoff@mchsi.com -------------------------------------------------------------------- Please note: All LM_NET postings are protected by copyright law.
