I am in the process of reading the Gaslight Mysteries by Victoria Thompson. Set at
the beginning of the 1900s in New York City. A knickerknocker midwife who has lost
her husband teams with an Irish detective to solve murders that involve the poor
and the rich.

Lots of great facts, interesting characters, and lots of historical facts. I am
totally hooked and cannot wait for the next book. I have purchased the 6 that are
out.JaKay Greer Teacher-LibrarianMiddle schoolAlbany, Oregon.>
