I'm sorry...but it's page 51 that one stamps!!!

Talk about old... I used to work in tech services [about 100 years
ago] at L.A. State [CSULA now] and about 5 of us students sat around
a table for hours processing books including stamping all those
places on all those books. My terrible story includes the time I
didn't pay attention and put book covers on an entire row of books
upside down. We had so much fun talking around that big ole' table!

I still have my T.A.s stamp all our books - it's a great job for
kids, and helps them to practice many skills including hand/eye
coordination!! They get to listen to our Playaways while they do it.

And then to make SURE that no one would EVER think of stealing a
library book, we would also stamp the top, side, and bottom edges of
the book (when it is closed, you can easily use an ink stamper to
insert your library's name onto the page edges which can only be
recognized when the book is closed).

I hated marking out every single stamped edge, inside, outside, and
page 23 of every book when I weeded!! (Wow...I sound like some "old
librarian" remembering the "good ol' days"!)
