Happy Birthday Melvil Dewey!

Dewey song. (Tune of She'll Be Coming Around the Mountain)

Oh do you know your Dewey, oh do you?

Oh do you know your Dewey, oh do you?

In the nonfiction section it will help find your selection, Oh do you
know your Dewey, oh do you?

In the 000's are some catalogs for you.

Newspapers and encyclopedias too!

The 100's are philosophy,

Mixed in with psychology,

Oh do you know your Dewey, oh do you?

In 200's are the mythology,

And religious books are also there you see.

The 300's have the folklore,

Government, manners, and some more

Oh do you know your Dewey, oh do you?

In 400's dictionaries you can find.

And languages are there of every kind.

500's have astronomy,

Plants, animals, math where they should be Oh do you know your Dewey, oh
do you?

The 600's have some aviation,

Engineering, rockets and building just for fun.

The 700's have music,

Sports, drama, painting take your pick!

Oh do you know your Dewey, oh do you?

The 800's are full of pretty poetry.

There's a lot of plays and speeches there for me The 900's have
biography, geography, Travel, and history--Whee!

Oh do you know your Dewey, oh do you?

This song is almost finished,

aren't you glad?

You've just learned the Dewey system.

That ain't bad!

In the nonfiction section it will help you find your selection, Oh I
hope you know your Dewey cause we're through!
