We had to make a return to Amazon that we had paid for by check. Before completing the return, we had changed the bank account number to use, since the other account had been closed. Unfortunately, the change did not go through. Hence, Amazon credited the closed account and insists the matter is final even though Amazon admits that they don't have a confirmation number. The bank has no record of the transaction and suggested that we file a dispute. This has involved at least 6 phone calls to Amazon. When we asked to speak to a supervisor, the representative said that the supervisor was aware of the situation and would not allow us to escalate the problem. Meanwhile, we're out almost $100. Has someone else had a similar situation which they were able to handle successfully? Please respond to me personally unless posting to the list will help others.
