Personally, I prefer having the discussion here in real time.  If it's something 
I'm not interested in, I delete.  It is extremely time-consuming to compile a hit, 
and not very timeLY either, if someone else is needing the info when you've asked 
for it.  I make far less use of the listserv because of this.

I was wrong in thinking the policy had changed.  HITS do go to the list.  However, 
many people (to me and to the list) also expressed Wendy's sentiments that many 
times a discussion was better than a hit.  I think this is something that the 
hospitality committee might consider.  Also whether it makes sense to clarify what 
editing might be assumed okay in posting a hit.  Is it okay to eliminate posts that 
duplicate others'?  Can we leave off names and just post the gist of sentiments 
where appropriate?  etc.
