Another aspect of this need to help is the need to share.? Whenever I see someone
looking at a book I've read that I've enjoyed, I can't resist putting in my two
cents worth and giving them a quick review/recommendation.? Often this unsolicited
opinion leads to a related conversation about similar books that person has read or
I've read.? I wonder how many books librarians are responsible for selling in
bookstores??

Previous posts have been about us taking the initiative and helping
people locate books in bookstores. However, when I'm in a bookstore or
a different library, customers/patrons will often ask me for help as
though I work there. This used to happen even when I was in college
when I would go to the local public library. I guess I have a
'librarian look'! At least I apparently give off helpfulness vibes.
