Hi LM_NET readers! I am a reading teacher in an elementary school and also a library intern. One of my elementary sites has a significantly older collection than other buildings in the district, and also has fewer materials. We may be able to get some funds to help update the collection--possibly about $7000. One suggestion I was given was to pick one Dewey section that's really outdated, and weed and update it. I know how to use Titlewave to check the collection stats, so that is a possibility. Another is to ask teachers what they want. (Technology is not the problem, and that will not come out of these funds.) I could also do a little of each. What do you feel would be a good way to spend this one-time windfall? I want to make purchases that will have the best impact on students. I have offered to do the materials selection and purchase orders as a project, but I need to hurry before the money disappears! Thanks for any ideas you can share!
