Here are comments from a juror.

http://blogs.pcworld.com/tipsandtweaks/archives/003741.html

Juror's comment:

"If a 40 year old school teacher does not have the sense to turn off or is
not smart enough to figure it out, would you or any other person wanting her
teaching your child or grandchild?"

(Or walking around outside of jail?)

Reporter's comment:

"According to the trial transcript, Amero testified that she made every
attempt to keep the children from seeing the images. In fact, a number of
children at the trial testified that she had attempted to block them from
seeing the screen. Also, another substitute teacher testified that Julie had
asked for help in the teachers lounge."

I have not seen the transcript, but this was in accord with the statements
of the students. Let me remind you that she was a computer neophyte, she had
a malfunctioning computer in a classroom, and was dealing with this problem
for at least 2 class sessions. (I am still not clear what happened then),
thus 60 students. Only 9 saw anything, and most of them knew something was
wrong and were sneaking up to take a peak and she made efforts in all cases
where she saw a child approach.

Also, it was clearly in the record that she had been told very directly NOT
to turn off the computer.
