Dear colleagues, When a student forgets his/her library book, do any of you make the student wait until their next scheduled library visit to borrow a "saved" book? I was astounded when, for the first time, we forgot to put my first grader's library book in her backpack on time (during a four-day week no less) and she was told she cannot bring home the book she selected until next week. Her librarian asks for books to be returned the day before library. Despite the fact that she returned her book on "library day" she was still not allowed to bring a book home. - Please let me know how you handle circulation of saved books. I would love to hear from anyone who feels strongly about their policy and the reason for these feelings. I will post a HIT of responses.
