Dear Colleagues,
For the past several years our 11th grade honor students have been
involved in a formal "Book Trial" . The classes are broken into the pro
banners and the anti banners. The students pose as laywers and present
their cases to a panel of judges. Last year we used The Color Purple,
the year before The Laramie Project, we've used The Bell Jar etc. We
have plenty of information to provide to the students on banned books,
but this year they have decided to shake it up and use a movie. The
chosen movie is CRASH.
Does anyone have information on school districts banning movies. Have
there been any precedence set about banned movies.
Any information will be helpful.
Thanks,
Rosemary Dirks
