I don’t believe that the things represented in this (hours, attitude at in-services) are any thing caused by a union necessarily. We are not a “union” part of the country generally speaking, yet I have seen the same type of attitudes in various schools here. It appears to be what the administrative expectations are as well as an individual's personal integrity that create the behaviors. I also see plenty of teachers who work the extra times above and beyond too.
