Have you seen Scriptovia.com? (It just launched this summer.) Although the concept may be good (sharing ideas, sharing essays, projects, and research, allowing input from friends and strangers, taking advantage of a unique 2.0 world), I can see students using the site as a "free essay" program (although locating the source might be easier for teachers, if the program does not require a fee to access all of the contents....?) However, if you know more about this program and can provide some insight into ways to effectively utilize it with students (rather than blocking it at school), I'd be interested. I can see this as one more program / site that becomes a serious problem in schools, rather than an "opportunity for learning." ~Shonda -- Shonda Brisco, MLIS Library Media / Technology Specialist Digital Bookends wiki / blog: http://digitalbookends.pbwiki.com http://shonda.edublogs.org/ sbrisco@gmail.com Resources for Texas School Librarians: http://txschoollibrarians.ning.com/ http://txschoollibrarians.wikispaces.com/ "Digital Resources" columnist School Library Journal -------------------------------------------------------------------- Please note: All LM_NET postings are protected by copyright law.
