For those of you are creative and like to sew (or do other crafty
things), I thought I'd let you know that I happened to find some cute
apron panels at my local Wal-mart (in the fabric department) that
looked to be a cute idea to use during storytelling. [I have used
storytelling aprons with my kinders and first-graders on special
storytelling days---when they saw me in the apron, they knew it was a
storytelling day.]

One apron panel was a "teacher's apron" which read: Everyone Loves a
Teacher-- (I think we need to let the fabric designers know that if
they created another product line that read "librarian" they'd have a
few more individuals interested in purchasing these cute patterns.)

One apron panel had a snowman family on it...another had a
turkey....(thinking of "seasonal storytelling" ideas, I could see how
the aprons could develop into a serious library wardrobe!).*grin*

The fabric was by Cranston Village (http://www.cranstonvillage.com)
and other fabrics available for cute projects included the Daisy
Kingdom and Debbie Mumm fabrics.

I did purchase three of the apron panels (these are basically a
'beginner's sewing project' so even if you don't think you can sew,
you can easily cut and sew the edges of these panels to create your
own cute apron. The price was $3.75 for each panel. (I'm sure that
if you can't locate the fabric at a Wal-Mart, you can find these types
of fabric panels at most fabric stores, JoAnn's craft stores, Hobby
Lobby stores, Hancock fabrics, etc.)

I'm sending links to some of the apron panel examples that are on eBay
(so you could purchase them here or at least see some of the examples,
if you aren't sure what I'm talking about)...
and a few links to the websites that have some cute projects and ideas
that some of you might want to use in your elementary libraries (or
ask parent volunteers who love to sew to help with during the year!)
