Thank you so much for all the great quick replies.... I just cut and pasted them
here....I'll be submitted them to our tech committee and then hope to preview them
before purchasing... Thanks again. Lori

***I have been using Type to Learn 3 by Sunburst and have been pleased
with it. I'm not sure what you would consider short lessons. There
are 20+ lessons of course, one for each letter, etc.

***The main character is Father Time and the game breaks are all about
people in history.

***Our 4th grade teachers like "All the Right Type".

***We use Type to Learn. You can also modify it for different learners.

***We use Type to Learn 3. There are 25 lessons, options for the teacher,
progress charts that are printable and my students love it!

***I start them off with the first 5 lessons only at the end of 2nd grade and
in 3rd grade they become very proficient. I encourage them to finish up
to lesson 10. By fourth or fifth grade they finish the entire program and
get a certificate..from the program :)

This would be a great typing program for 4-6th grades.

***I have used the keyboarding program ALL THE RIGHT TYPE for many years.
It was rather boring for many years but now has an interactive
typing game in one part after they have learned the letters. A good
thing about this company is that they do free upgrades and they do
both a networked version and a stand alone. We've had very little
trouble with the program and it does keep track of their progress. It
doesn't let them go on to the next lesson until they complete the one
they're on.

***We use Type to Learn Jr.

> ***We use Sticky Bear by Borderbrund, it's adequate.
> The kids like it, but as a teacher it's a tad
> boring!

> ***We do not use software in our computer lab, and we

> ***Our teachers like this website. I have the link on
> the library webpage
> so young students can find it at home too.
> And...it's free!

> ***Our District uses Type to Learn and the students
> seem to enjoy using it.
